A highly atmospheric cooperative game of terrifying cave escape! Players explore by placing tiles and try to find the exit before dying in one of several nightmarish ways.
Escape an uncharted cave before the lights fail in Sub Terra. One to six cavers have fallen down a steep shaft and must explore an underground system tile by tile, searching for the exit while conserving health and time. The team wins by bringing as many explorers as possible to safety before darkness closes in.
Each round gives the cavers actions to reveal passages, move, run, heal companions and overcome difficult terrain. Character boards provide different specialist abilities, encouraging the group to divide responsibilities without becoming isolated. Hazard cards trigger tremors, floods, gas and cave-ins, while hostile Horrors move through the tunnels towards the nearest conscious victim.
The cave is assembled from a shuffled stack of sixty-four tiles, placing the exit somewhere among the final six and making every expedition uncertain. Normal, Advanced and Expert settings change the hazard deck and available time. Falling unconscious does not immediately remove a caver, but rescue costs precious actions and may expose more of the team to danger.
