Bring Dutch water management expertise to the contest for hydroelectric power with The Leeghwater Project, an expansion for Barrage. The Netherlands joins the game as a new company led by Jan Leeghwater, giving experienced players another distinctive approach to controlling water and developing an industrial network.
The expansion introduces External Works, powerful projects obtained through a new action space. Completing one requires permanently spending the indicated excavators and concrete mixers instead of placing them on the Construction Wheel, creating a difficult choice between an immediate advantage and the resources available for later construction.
Personal Buildings add another layer of planning through five different building tiles whose effects can be activated by engineers. Two new Executive Officers support the new systems, while three Advanced Technology tiles reward the construction of Personal Buildings and widen the strategic choices available during the base game.
This is an expansion and not a standalone game. The Barrage board game is required to play.
